On Saturday 14th August between 11am – 5pm the Ardrossan Community Development Trust (ACDT) will be running and organising a Community Engagement Day.
The purpose of the event is to discuss the intended community regeneration proposals that have recently been published via various local sources. The ACDT and all project partners would like to present these ideas to the widespread community and gather additional feedback from the people who live in the town.
These plans are not set in stone and from the additional feedback provided by the community plans can be firmed up before being taken into development.
The proposed plans for Ardrossan South Beach comes from the charette conducted by “Our Place” in relation to the identified needs of the town and the community.
Project partners who will be available on the day are:
Ardrossan Community Development Trust Directors – available to answer any questions and provide information to the public
Sustrans – Ardrossan Connections Project
Wave Particle – Ardrossan Deck Chairs Project
Mike Hyatt Architects – South beach promenade project
North Ayrshire Council locality team – All projects
On the day we are looking for as many members of the Ardrossan community to pop along and see the proposed plans for the area. This includes marking out the areas in chalk with descriptions of what they would see in these areas.
Our wider project partners will also be in attendance so you can have a chance to pick the brains of the experts that we are working with to further develop the area and ask any questions or raise any concerns that you may have.
We’ve also got some other activities running throughout the day!
Art organisation, WAVEparticle, is looking forward to a day in Ardrossan, this Saturday 14th August.
As part of the day, they will be running a flag-making workshop. Everyone is invited to come along to make your own flag to fly on South Beach.
WAVEparticle will supply the material, fabric paints and flagpoles, and you’ll supply your ideas. Artist, Danielle Banks, will help you to draw a symbol that is important to you, and then print this onto a flag. Once complete, your flag will be added to a flagpole and flown. The activity is free, and all ages are welcome.

Every household in the Ardrossan postcode will received literature delivered through their door regarding the community engagement day. The flyers will have QR codes and links to this webpage in order to provide and gather feedback.
We are also planning on local radio adverts and social media posts in relation to the community engagement day, as we would like the event as well attended as possible. The more voices and feedback we can gather will enable Ardrossan Trust and its project partners to better deliver the needs of the Ardrossan Community.
